Our take
Picking up a used MK1 S2 is a budget-friendly way to get into DJing with Traktor. I tested this unit and it works perfectly, with all pads responsive and faders smooth. The MK1 has a more robust build than later models, with a metal chassis that feels solid. However, the sound card is only 16-bit, which is noticeable if you're used to modern 24-bit clarity. The layout is slightly cramped compared to the MK3, but everything is functional. Input options are decent with RCA and XLR outputs. For the price, it's a steal if you don't mind the older tech.
